Every year prior to Labor Day – as America start planning its Labor Day road-trips – Consumer Reports releases a variety of surveys and articles on the state of car usage in the country. This year, as car buyers were showing signs of trickling back into car dealerships, they focused on the question of which was the better deal...buying a 2011 model or a leftover 2010? We created a series of banners that posed the question in some interesting ways. The result...the highest view-through and lowest cost per acquisition rates to date for any Labor Day promotion

Consumer Reports – Speak Blob Microsite / Banner Ads
We’ve been increasingly involved in helping Consumer Reports better define their brand position. Here’s an online push we did to re-introduce CR’s rating symbols – known internally at CR as “blobs” – which have come to symbolize what Consumer Reports does for consumers. Banner ads teased the concept of “speaking blob,” and directed viewers to a microsite that showed them the meanings behind the rating symbols. The site then linked back to content on CR’s main website.

Here’s a banner ad that pointed viewers to CR’s latest Auto Report by tapping into the pain Americans were feeling at the pump. Gas Pump toppers added additional support in key markets.
