Phil Bressler – Partner/Chief Client Services Officer
![]() |
Phil Bressler – Partner/Chief Client Services Officer Little known things to ask Phil about sometime: how he played high school basketball with Bill Self; how his mom writes romance novels; how he met his wife…on a plane. Oh, and his road bike. Phil loves to bike. Phil brings over twenty years of both agency and client experience to MBB. He’s worked with a wide range of companies, including McDonald’s, Quaker State, PepsiCo, and Sonic Drive-Ins. At MBB, Phil’s active in account management with all agency clients. And incidentally, he’s probably the only person you’ll ever meet who was a member of the inaugural graduating class of McDonald’s Hamburger Marketing University. - B.S. Journalism, University of Kansas - Husband to Lailan, father to Ryan and Kai - Loves maps and is an avid exploration/adventure reader |
Jim Brown – Partner/COO
![]() |
Jim Brown – Partner/COO Jim’s a man who loves a good deal. Just ask him … seriously. He loves to brag about the deals he finds on his clothes. So unless you really want to know where he got his slacks, what he paid for them and how much of a bargain it was, do NOT compliment him on his wardrobe. It’s his deal seeking nature, however, that clients love about Jim. Having spent 15 years as national, local and general sales manager for TV stations in Omaha, Phoenix, Wichita and Kansas City, our clients find great value in his insider understanding of content and distribution models in the modern media world. Bottom line – he’ll save you money. Jim joined the agency as a partner in 2005 – working directly with clients in business growth planning and media strategy. - B.S. Journalism, University of Kansas - Masters in Business Administration, Creighton University - Graduate – Centurions Leadership Program, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce - Volunteer – Catholic Charities - Husband to Christian, father to Marin, Sophia, and Spencer - Coach to his children’s soccer, basketball and baseball teams |
Denny Meier – Partner/CFO
![]() |
Denny Meier – Partner/CFO Ask anyone in the agency and they’ll tell you Denny has the most important job in the agency. And, no … it isn’t keeping the books balanced. As our resident supplier of Friday donuts, Denny keeps us sugared up and ready to work. Actually, it’s probably just an excuse to go to Costco. Denny loves Costco. When he’s not there, chances are he’s on a baseball field or basketball court somewhere…either coaching or watching his sons’ teams. Denny joined MBB in 2006 and has been an integral part in the agency’s growth. Before coming to our shop, he spent twenty years as Chief Financial Officer for Entercom Kansas City Radio and One Voice, a start-up company servicing the broadcast business. - Bachelors in Business Administration/Accounting - CPA (is that Certified Public Account or Certified Party Animal?) - Board member to Great American Basketball League (GABL) - Husband to Mary Beth, father to Travis, Joe and Mike |
Shan Neely – Creative Director
![]() |
Shan Neely – Creative Director Shan loves his Sooners. Maybe too much. He hated the fact his kids had to be born in Missouri. So he had actual chunks of sod cut from Owen Field at the University of Oklahoma shipped to him … so he could place them under the birthing beds. Just so his kids could be “born over Oklahoma soil.” Yeah, we know. Otherwise he’s a solid guy. Shan came to MBB from a larger agency, where he spent 10-years on national brands like Thrifty Rental Car, Bayer Animal Healthcare, Capital One and USAA. Before that, he headed up an award-winning in-house shop for Harold’s, a chain of specialty apparel stores. - B.A. Journalism, University of Oklahoma, 7x Champions - Wife to Tiffani; father to son, Tack and daughter, Scout - Placed 17th out of 200 in brisket at the Lenexa Kansas State BBQ Championship - Favorite things: 4x4s from the ’70s, Colt .45s, Boomer Sooners |
Andrea Hughey Hayob – Public Relations/Consumer Engagement
![]() |
Andrea Hughey Hayob – Public Relations/Consumer Engagement Andrea’s path into advertising was a little different than most. In high school she won the “Most Improved” award in chemistry. She immediately decided that the award was patronizing and a backhanded compliment. So she ditched the test tubes and embraced “words and language.” Well, we’re happy that science wasn’t Andrea’s thing because that means our clients have access to her impressive corporate communications and non-profit healthcare experience. Andrea most recently came to MBB from the American Diabetes Association where she was associate manger in fundraising. Prior to that, she worked in internal and external communications for two Kansas City based telecommunications giants, Sprint and Embarq. - B.S. Journalism, University of Kansas - Wife to David - Aunt to three nephews - Devotee of all things Kansas Jayhawks - Volunteer for CASA, DeLa Salle Education Center and Southwest High School |
Julie Ramlo Hohulin – Group Director
![]() |
Julie Ramlo Hohulin – Group Director In case her radiant smile didn’t already give it away, Julie was crowned Miss Tremont in 1984 — where she edged out the competition, we’re told, with a smokin’ flute solo. Luckily for us, she opted for a marketing career instead of touring with Jethro Tull. Julie brings over twenty years experience in marketing and advertising to MBB. She began her career in the Chicago market, but later moved to Peoria where she heads up our satellite office. With experience in both corporate and not-for-profit marketing, some of Julie’s previous clients include Maui Jim Sunglasses and The United Way and a host of both private and public healthcare organizations. In what little spare time she has, Julie helps the American Cancer Society and Catholic Charities with fundraising and development. - B.S. Public Relations and M.B.A. Marketing, Illinois State University - Wife to Matt, mother to Abigail, Hannah, Grant, Maci and Marli - Weight lifter |
Leah Mountain – Account Director
![]() |
Leah Mountain – Account Director Leah’s passion for community service runs deep. So deep, in fact, she’s helped reroof houses for church missions despite a lifetime fear of heights that has kept her from even stepping foot onto a rollercoaster. Oh … and you should get her to speak Spanish sometime. She’s so familiar with it that it seems wrong to call it a second language. Leah brings over six years of experience to MBB, having worked on teams that handled a variety of accounts from national brands to local businesses. Some of those brands included, USAA, University of Kansas Athletics, Thrifty Car Rental, Capital One and Bayer Animal HealthCare. - B.S. Journalism/B.A. Spanish University of Kansas - Member – American Advertising Federation - Played softball for KU - Married to Jacob - Mom to Lucy, a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd |
Katie Prater – Account Supervisor
![]() |
Katie Prater – Account Supervisor Katie gets the award for most interesting alarm clock in the agency. While honeymooning in Ollantaytambo, Peru, en route to Machu Picchu, Katie and her husband were awakened each morning by the neighbor’s roosters. Unfortunately, the rooster liked to wake up around 4 a.m. That trip was just one of many that she’s taken. Over the years, she’s seen 25 of our 50 states and spent time on 4 of the 7 continents. Katie brings a wide variety of experience to MBB. She spent several years as a Senior Account Manager for the Sonic Account where she helped manage the tastier side of the QSR business … frozen treats. She’s also spent plenty of time helping healthcare clients and the Kansas Department of Health. - Has a tradition of spending Thanksgiving in Las Vegas - Earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do - Wife to Scott, Mother to Quinn |
John Dobson – Account Coordinator
![]() |
John Dobson – Account Coordinator You know how Forrest Gump did all of these kinda crazy, spectacular things? John Dobson’s kinda like that. He piloted the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile around the nation for a year. He still holds the record at Worlds of Fun for the highest single-day revenue from guessing people’s weight. And he was the only one in the office who knew what a “trucker’s friend” was. How he ended up in advertising, we have no idea. We’re happy he’s here, though. He really understands what brand outreach is all about. While John was serving as a national spokesperson for Oscar Mayer and driving the Wienermobile, he specialized in social media outreach and crisis management, talents we appreciate having here at MBB. - B.J. Strategic Communication, University of Missouri - Husband to Catherine - Mizzou Tigers fanatic - Former sports talk radio host |
Tommy Donoho – Senior Thinker-Upper/Writer
![]() |
Tommy Donoho – Senior Thinker-Upper/Writer You might not know it by looking at him (well … okay … maybe you would), but at the ripe age of seven, Tommy was escorted by his parents to his first Grateful Dead concert. And he’s been hooked on music ever since. So much so, in fact, that when he’s not writing ads he’s busy writing songs for several bands around town. A 14-year agency veteran and Arkansas native, Tommy cut his teeth at mid-size shops before jumping to Saatchi and Saatchi in the early 2000′s. A desire to move to a larger city led him to MBB and he has been thinking up great stuff here ever since. In his time he has worked on clients ranging from the smallest local restaurant to multi-billion dollar global brands. This list includes Proctor & Gamble, Wal-Mart, Terminix International and more. - B.S. Journalism, University of Arkansas - Avid Indoorsman - Doting father to a large collection of records - Songwriter, Singer, Lead guitarist in several bands |
Amy Young – Senior Art Director
![]() |
Amy Young – Senior Art Director She’s fun. She’s friendly. She’s stylish. She’s rappelled off cliffs. Seriously … we’re not kidding. To meet Amy, you’d never think to yourself “that looks like someone who’s lived in the wilderness and dug her own latrine.” But the fact is, before she was an Art Director, she achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award — which is Girl Scouting equivalent of Eagle Scout. And though she spends considerably less time in the woods these days, she can still be depended on for having a supply of Girl Scout Cookies in her office. Amy brings ten years of agency experience to MBB. In that time, she’s applied her strategic and creative expertise to broadcast production, print, direct mail, collateral and out-of-home for a wide range of clients from non-profits to multi-billion dollar retail brands including Wal-Mart, Bayer and Thrifty Rental Car. - B.A. Graphic Design, Avila College - Council Member, Art + Copy Club - Volunteer, American Cancer Society - Member of World Adult Kickball Association - Wife to Mike, Mother to Fritz and Cambridge |
Jamie Kingston – Production Artist
![]() |
Jamie Kingston – Production Artist Due to her quiet demeanor, the last thing you’d think of when you talk to Jamie is that she’s a risk taker. But, boy, would you be wrong. While studying abroad, Jamie felt compelled to participate in the world’s tallest bungee jump. The 710 ft. jump off the Blourkan’s Bridge in South Africa had her free falling for a full eight seconds. Speaking of eight, that’s how many years she’s been doing production. She’s responsible for prepping national advertising, direct mail, outdoor and POP materials for vendors. Before joining the MBB team, she racked up a ton of experience on brands like Blockbuster Video, Commerce Bank, Farmland Foods, Kansas City Zoo, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart. Jamie has spent most of her career in Kansas City, but education has taken her to St. Joe, MN, Omaha, NE and Port Elizabeth, South Africa. - B.A. Communication with focus in Studio Art, College of Saint Benedict - Wife to Vince, Mother to Audrey |
Kevin Brimmer – Senior Designer/Illustrator
![]() |
Kevin Brimmer – Senior Designer/Illustrator Kevin’s artistic side isn’t limited to his time at the office. His knack for gardening and design has allowed him to create, quite possibly, one of the most exquisite backyards you’ve ever seen. He even dug his own pond to raise Koi in. Oh … and whatever you do, DON’T challenge him to a game of basketball. You will lose. A graduate of the Illustration Academy, Kevin has been an accomplished illustrator for 17 years, in addition to designing packaging, identity campaigns and a variety of collateral projects. Here at MBB, he’s our jack-of-all-trades. Whether it’s logos, signage systems, annual reports, event displays, clothing or architectural interiors, Kevin’s done it all for our clients. And he’s a remarkable storyboard artist as well. - Judge – Communication Arts Illustration Annual and Spectrum Illustration Annual - Owns a dog and koi fish - Married to one helluva woman, father to hecuva boy |
Danielle Larson – Project Manager
![]() |
Danielle Larson – Project Manager Everyone at MBB knows Danielle has an eye for detail, but she also has quite the eye for photography. For years, she’s been an avid photographer. But while most photographers are stepping into the digital world, Danielle still prefers her trusty old Polaroid Instamatic. Danielle’s eye for detail is crucial in her role as project manager. In the five years she’s spent in the industry, her attention to detail and multitasking/organizational skills have benefited both small and large clients, including Consumer Reports, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Chinet and Payless. - B.A. Communications-Print Media, Moody Bible Institute - Enjoys shooting portrait photography - Into all things vintage, specifically the 1950s era - Mom to Coco, her Shih Tzu |
Kristen McIntyre – Accounts Payable
![]() |
Kristen McIntyre – Accounts Payable Of all the folks here at MBB, Kristen is the only one to have ever made front-page news. What’s more impressive was the fact that she made headlines for playing in the snow … in the middle of July! Apparently, the Augusta Meat Locker was defrosting their freezers and dumped mounds and mounds of shaved ice into the parking lot. Kristen somehow managed to be first on the scene to enjoy this freak summer snow storm. Kristen has been with MBB the longest of any employee. She started here 18 years ago as John Muller’s assistant before moving into the financial side of things. When she’s not busy keeping our finances in line, she likes to spend her time at the lake or attending her kids’ sporting events — which apparently goes year round. - Wife to Bryan - Mother to Kyle, Kelsey and Blake |
Christian Weld-Brown – Office Manager
![]() |
Christian Weld-Brown – Office Manager Christian’s father raced in the 1970 Indianapolis 500 and eventually moved on to open Weld Wheels, which meant Christian has spent much of her life around the race track. And while she never made it to the Indy 500 herself, Christian has spent some time whipping around the Roller Derby track — until she experienced a career-ending injury, that is. Point being, Christian’s the one that keeps us all on track around here. Whether she’s managing the office, changing décor or planning our parties, she keeps our culture alive and well. We couldn’t get a thing done without her. - B.A. Stephens College, Columbia, MO - J.D. Creighton University - Wife to Jim and mother to Marin, Sophia and Spencer |
Cassandra King – Interactive Designer
![]() |
Cassandra King – Interactive Designer When Cassandra commits to something, she really commits. It took her nine years of being a strict vegetarian to finally convince her mom it wasn’t a phase. Her love of gardening has led to a house full of plants. They literally outnumber her pieces of furniture. And she’s the only person in the office who’s a card-carrying member of the National Geographic Society. The other thing Cassandra is committed to is great design. As a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, she’s studied with some of the best. With a passion for “interface design, information architecture and user experience” she brings a lot of vision to every interactive project. - BFA Kansas City Art Institute - Board game aficionado and avid reader - Bakes a mean pie - Dedicated “greenie” |
Karen Hamilton – Director of Creative Services
![]() |
Karen Hamilton – Director of Creative Services While she won’t admit to it, we suspect Karen secretly longs to host Wild Kingdom. Because in the six years she spent photographing and designing travel brochures, her underwater adventures found her riding sea turtles, facing off with barracuda and nearly getting swept out to sea beyond the barrier reef before swimming the distance back to her boat which was encircled with sharks. Top that Marlin Perkins! Add to this list of achievements the countless 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons she’s run, and her weekend do-it-yourself home projects that have made her a regular at the area home stores and you’ll wonder how she has time to oversee the production of everything that leaves our office — but she does. If you need it printed, embossed, mailed, filmed, recorded Karen can do it. In fact, we dare you to find something she can’t do. Seriously … we haven’t been able to. - BFA in Graphic Design from Eastern Kentucky University - Mother to Erin - One of 8 brothers and sisters - Did we mention she’s faced off with a barracuda? |
Melanie Garvey – Media Planner/Buyer
![]() |
Melanie Garvey – Media Planner/Buyer Few folks at MBB have had a more interesting summer job than Melanie. While the rest of us delivered pizzas and mowed lawns, Melanie spent her summer training junior astronauts. In her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama, Melanie spent a break from college as a counselor at the famed Space Camp. While her knowledge of the outer realms will come in handy when it’s time for that first media buy on the moon, in the mean time, Melanie typically spends her day to day creating smart media programs for our clients. - B.A. in History from the University of Alabama - Wife to Brett - The “Roll Tide” banner in her office should tell you everything about her sports affiliation - Loves spending her free time travelling, sampling new microbrews and BBQ. |
Betsy Nanson – Senior Digital Strategist
![]() |
Betsy Nanson – Senior Digital Strategist Betsy has the kind of “get up and go” attitude we love here at MBB. Of course, in her younger days, while living in St. Louis, she took that attitude a bit more literally. So much so that, one morning, she hopped in her car to “go for a drive” and, 1500 miles later, she wound up at the Grand Canyon. These days, Betsy isn’t likely to jump into her car and head out into the great unknown, choosing to turn her sense of spontaneity and adventure to the interactive world. Here at MBB, she’s exploring new frontiers and developing sound strategies to help our clients reach out to their audience in exciting new ways. Before coming to MBB, Betsy spent time at America Online, and other Kansas City area agencies before running her own interactive shop, with clients ranging from PricewaterhousCoopers and Dave Ramsey, to Wilshire Farms, Colgate and and Oreck Vacuums. - B.A. in Journalism from the University of Kansas - Wife to Ben - Mother to Zoe and Bingham - Google certified since 2006 - Sings a mean karaoke version of “When You’re Good to Mama” |
Melinda Wulf – Interactive Media Manager
![]() |
Melinda Wulf – Interactive Media Manager The first thing you need to know about Melinda is that she’s always looking for a way to go above and beyond. Take her athletic accomplishments, for example. Not satisfied with the usual half marathon, Melinda decided to take it one further … she ran one on the Great Wall of China. Instead of running a 5K, she swam one! Even her triathlon are of Olympic size … literally. She ran an Olympic Distance Triathlon. Whew! Luckily for us, that above and beyond attitude is the same one Melinda brings to work, every day. As Interactive Media Manager, she really stretches the limits of what can be done in the digital world to find new ways to reach out to audiences. Before joining us here at MBB, she spent time developing ideas for a number of Kellogg’s brands like Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Cheez-It and Raisin Bran. - BS in Journalism from Kansas University - Huge fan of KU athletics - Proud aunt to 6 nieces and nephews - Plays a mean game of dodgeball |
Steven Burnett – Senior Digital Strategist
![]() |
Steven Burnett – Senior Digital Strategist Like most MBB folks, Steven swore to us he didn’t have anything interesting to contribute to the bio section. But with a bit of prying, we managed to get him to reveal that he has ties to royalty. Well … kind of. As a member of his high school marching band, Steven played in the London New Year’s Day Parade. In front of the Queen of England, no less. And while we’ve yet to hear Her Majesty’s review of the performance, Steven insists it was nothing short of spectacular. When he’s not busy entertaining royalty, Steven is constantly looking for new ways to entertain, enthrall and educate consumers. As our Senior Digital Strategist, Steven stays on top of the latest online trends to help clients engage with people in the digital world, more effectively. Before joining our team, he spent time Kansas City’s largest interactive agency and has worked on clients ranging from Burger King and Kashi, to SAP and Avid. - Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kansas State University with degrees in Marketing and Management - Husband to Rebecca - Loves racquetball, jogging and bourbon on the rocks - Has yet to be bested in a game of Super Mario Kart |
Robb Reed – Senior Art Director
![]() |
Robb Reed – Senior Art Director As the lone Rush fan at MBB, Robb catches his fair share of ribbing on a daily basis. But he takes it all in stride. And while many consider his musical tastes suspect, few in the office question Robb’s taste in beers. A self-proclaimed beer snob, Robb imbibed his first taste of a hearty European lager while spending a month in Scotland as a representative of his school’s soccer team, and he hasn’t looked back since. Robb’s taste for the finer things has definitely translated to his art direction abilities. At MBB his refined, sometimes adventurous design work is what helps our clients stand out among the pack. Before joining our team, Robb has spent time at several large national shops, working on brands as diverse as Wal-Mart, Bayer, Pepsi, Colorado Tourism, Barbados Tourism and Lipton. - Graduate of Illinois State University - Husband to Angie - Father to daughters Evan and Paige - Can quote every Simpsons episode … ever. |
